The Samba Wedding is a wedding concept with starts with an ‘oh so glamourous welcome party’ and ends with an unmatched reception marked by sheer opulence and grandiosity. Every function had an unconventional charm, vibe and tasteful choice of outfits, decor and themes. Not only this, but the wedding functions also witnessed some well-known personalities of B-town- Katrina Kaif, Boney Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Neha Kakkar, Norah Fatehi, and Manish Paul.
Sanjana is born and brought up in Indonesia, however, she shifted to India in 2011. But she kept traveling to Indonesia to meet her friends and family or to attend important functions. In 2017, while she was attending her friend’s wedding Amrit chanced upon her photography. Subsequently, Amrit sent her a couple of messages to which Sanjana responded after a few months. Destiny played its part and Sanjana shifted back to Jakarta.
Amrit proposed to Sanjana on her birthday- 3rd November 2018. Amrit took her to the Mandapa, Ritz Carlton in Ubud for a private birthday dinner. The set up was breathtaking and magical- candles and wine. What happened next blew Sanjana away- she found a ring in her dessert and she, of course, said ‘YES’!
The wedding festivities started with a welcome dinner hosted at The Apurva Kempinski. The outdoor welcome dinner witnessed samba dancers performing and entertaining the guests. Thereafter, there was a party that had the same theme and left the guests awestruck. Amrit looked dapper in an unconventional Gaurav Gupta suit, while Sanjana carried her lavender gown effortlessly.
The bride had an intimate Mehendi affair with only close friends and family. What wowed us most was that her Mehendi artist, Barbie Ima, etched the couple’s love story on her palms. It was super-cute and mushy!
The couple’s sangeet was a dhamakedaar ceremony. It looked nothing short of a glitzy and glamourous award night! The function witnessed professional dance performances, fire shows, and the families performing on stage. The sangeet night was hosted by well-known artist Manish Paul and the function also saw popular B-town celebs.
Sanjana looked like a billion bucks in an ice blue lehenga replete with silver embellishments, paired with dazzling diamond jewelry while Amrit complimented her and looked suave in his royal blue kurta paired with a silver stole.
The wedding mandap set against the ocean was a treat to the eyes! It looked nothing short of royalty. The intricate detailing of the mandap, the drapes, and the lush green arrangments leading to it made it a gorgeous wedding venue. Sanjana donned a gold and bronze metallic Sabyasachi lehenga and paired her outfit with beautiful Polki jewelry while Amrit complimented her really well in a Sabyasachi ivory sherwani paired with a marsala shawl and a safa.
For the Hip Hop party, Sanjana flaunted an orange dress, while Amrit kept it casual with a t-shirt and jacket. Sanjana and Amrit are huge fans of the old school RNB vibe and thus as per the theme the venue was turned into an underground hip hop club. The highlight was the couple’s graffiti on a brick wall.
