Sometimes love gives you unexpected surprises. But real love lies in the unplanned moments when all seems in chaos. It is about celebrating the good times and holding on to each other during the difficult moments. This exactly happened in the case of our lovely couple Prianka and Nicolas.
Nicolas proposed to Prianka on a gondola on May 18th, 2018 in Venice, Italy. Isn’t he very romantic and loving? Just in the 70s movie The Great Gambler. In 2012, the paths of Prianka and Nicolas crossed at the Pavement Cafe on Gainsborough Street in Boston, Massachusetts. She was reading Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice when he came and sat down right next to her. It didn’t take her much time after that to realize she had found her Mr. Darcy.
Prianka and Nicolas worked with ‘I DO ETC’ team taking decisions together with help from their parents. The really did most of the work. Nicolas and Prianka discussed their ideas with them and the team transformed it into something even more beautiful.
The entire wedding functions took place at the JW Marriott in Mai Khao, Phuket for almost 3 days. The wedding function started of with the Welcome Party where family and friends from the bride’s and groom’s side mingled, danced, and enjoyed together. The theme was ‘Havana Nights’ and a special dance performance was arranged for everyone’s entertainment. Prianka wore a two-piece red satin outfit. She completed her look with chunky gold earrings and a flower crown while Nicolas looked dapper in a crisp, white shirt and beige pants.
Their Western wedding took place on a lawn with the views of the water. The decorations were minimal but elegant and white was the dominant color across the elements. The canopy was decorated with a large cluster of flowers and foliage from which strings of flowers were suspended. For the ceremony, Prianka was dressed in a gown from Liz Martinez Bridal, while Nicolas wore a black tuxedo by Tom Ford.
The next morning they had the mehndi ceremony, which came alive with all the cheery colors common at Indian weddings. They used a combination of yellow and soft pink drapes and flowers to deck up space. Prianka arrived at the event accompanied by dholwalas, wearing a green lehenga from Sabyasachi while Nicolas sported an Indian attire a kurta along with a floral bandi.
Prianka is half Indian and had always wanted an Indian wedding so, at the pheras, she really felt like she got married. The mandap was the highlight of this ceremony as it stood surrounded by water. The colors used as part of the setup were red and gold. While the bride wore a red lehenga by Sabyasachi, Nicolas looked handsome in a sherwani by Sabyasachi.
Advice for brides:” Don’t sweat the small stuff and spend as much time as you can laughing, dancing, drinking, and making memories. What everyone says about weddings are true: in a blink of an eye it’s all over.”
