Varun and Kanika had always wanted an intimate affair with only family and close friends. They decided to invite approximately 100 guests and the Palayana Hua Hin, in Thailand, was chosen as an apt destination for their wedding affair.
The wedding festivities kicked off with a welcome lunch for all the guests. The venue was decorated with elements like kaleeras, life-sized caricatures which served as a photo booth. Varun was seen dressed in a casual white t-shirt, while Kanika flaunted a powder-blue long blouse, paired with a skirt.
Thereafter, the couple had a super-fun pool party. The theme for pool party was a Nautical and also used props like Signage boards with the couple’s caricature, white and blue blooms, inflatable tubes, etc. The venue was spacious and it made it perfectly possible to host some exciting games like giant Jenga and beer pong. While the live food stations served a variety of delectable and lip-smacking food items.
Kanika wore an unconventional birch-coloured lehenga, with ruffled sleeves. She paired her outfit with pink, white and gold pearl jewelry while Varun looked sharp in a white shirt, blue trousers and an offbeat white blazer with multi-colored abstract designs.
The sangeet ceremony was based on a red carpet theme. This was an indoor function and it definitely witnessed a whole lot of razzmatazz. The guests were entertained by a host of professional dance performances by local artists, followed by dance performances by the couple and their respective families.
Kanika looked gorgeous in a forest green floor-length gown. She paired her outfit with traditional jewelry while Varun kept it simple yet dapper with his black tuxedo.
The decor for the wedding was done in peach and ivory hues. The mandap setting was done on the golden beach of the resort, by the side of the ocean. It was decorated in beautiful- white drapes with pastel-hued blooms. Large vases with bunches of flowers were also added to give the decor more fresh look.
Varun wore a Tarun Tahiliani outfit which was a beige kurta and dhoti paired with a bandi, that was replete with golden embroidery. His mojris and necklace complemented the outfit perfectly. While Kanika looked elegant in her greyish-blue embellished lehenga with pink lotus motifs embroidered on it. Her fuschia dupatta matched the lotuses and added a good amount of contrast to the ensemble. Not to miss her stunning statement polki set and the ruffles on her blouse!
The reception party was based on a vintage theme. The venue was decorated with white and gold grand balls. The highlight of the function was fun and carnival-like vibe with performances by belly dancers, musicians, etc. Also, the floral cake looked too delicious to resist.
Kanika was seen wearing a bottle and green shimmery dress, paired with traditional gold jewelry while Varun wore a black bandhgala blazer, with floral motifs on one side, paired with black trousers.
