Anuja and Aleks’s Romantic UK wedding

Aleks and Anuja met on their school bus when they were in high school. After being encouraged by their common friend, Aleks finally asked her out for a date. With time they started meeting regularly and fell in love with each other.

Aleks and Anuja’s celebration kicked off with an intimate and chilled out Haldi and Mehendi ceremony at the bride’s house. While Aleks wore a white kurta-pajama, Anuja wore a white saree which she accessorized with minimal jewelry and green bangles.

The informal and chilled out haldi and mehndi ceremonies were followed by a traditional Christian ceremony at the St. Charles Borromeo Church, Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. A summary white and blue-toned ceremony, the day wedding was a hearty and love-filled one which was later followed by a Polish lunch reception at Hull History Centre which was decked up by Hullaballoon.

While Aleks wore a blue Peter Posh tailcoat with a Charles Tyrwhitt shirt & tie and a Hockerty waistcoat, Anuja looked stunning in a pristine white Princia Pronovias dress with shoes from Freya Rose London. She teamed it up with dainty jewelry from Ivory & Co. and was glammed up by Victoria Farr who gave her a naturally enhanced look.

For the Hindu wedding ceremony, the Harlaxton Manor, Grantham was beautifully decked up with pretty white, blue and light pink flowers to exude a romantic and summery countryside vibe. Striking floral arrangements and a simplistic white draped mandap with heavy foliage and floral accents highlighted the decor for the wedding in a traditional and royal way.

Right from the cream sherwani to accessories, Aleks was clad head-to-toe in Benzer looking like a true Indian groom. Anuja, on the other hand, wore a statement red Sabyasachi lehenga with striking Kundan & Polki jewelry from Magic Mirror. While Helen Sutcliffe gave her a soft low bun, Makeup by Jenni gave her the perfect subtle eyes and a bold red lip.

Tips for future brides: “Get your photographer and videographer booked early. The best ones always book up fast. Going to India for wedding shopping is a great idea. There is so much choice out there and you can find exactly what you want. If not, someone can make it for you. Having a smaller wedding allows you to pay attention to the details, be able to meet everyone, and most importantly have a great time on your wedding day with the people you love. It also opens up the possibility of some of the most beautiful buildings in England, which have so much character in their own right.”
