Simran met Kanika for the first time at her 16th birthday party. They connected after two years on Facebook through a mutual friend who knew that Simran had a crush on Kanika so he got them to meet. And there began their story of never-ending love and togetherness.
They both love to try food at new and different restaurants, traveling, watching movies, and hanging out with their friends. These things connected them instantly.
Simran always knew that Kanika wanted her family to be around when she would be proposed and also somewhere outside of New York City. So when they were in Phuket, Thailand celebrating Kanika’s Bua & Uncle’s 25th anniversary Simran proposed to her in the villa they were staying amidst everybody. It was a super romantic proposal followed by a personal chef cooking dinner for them.
Kanika & Simran’s wedding was a grand yet intimate affair with every event themed differently. Since they both live in the USA, they tried to incorporate a lot of culture and elements from there to give their wedding a modern and non-traditional twist as they wanted to do something different from the typical Delhi wedding.
The couple rather chose not to work with a wedding planner and instead, did it all by themselves along with Rajiv Makin & Associates and their family and relatives who are in the hospitality business. With inspiration from Pinterest and Instagram infused with their creative ideas, they curated the wedding of their dreams phenomenally.
Topping it off with eye-pleasing frames and effervescent photos, the team of Kapture Studios worked at their creative best and in an unparalleled fashion.
The Sagan chunni function took place at Zorba, in a traditionally intimate and elegant manner, the ceremony was a warm and cozy affair to kickstart their revelries with.
Kanika wore a cream and black gharara done in mirror work by Abhinav Mishra for her Mehendi which she paired up with a stunning Maang-tikka, earrings, and a statement ring. While her makeup was kept minimal with light brown eyes by Guru, her hair was left half-open with side braids by Dablu Kumar.
Simran wore a yellow Sabyasachi kurta set with florals prints on it.
The wedding took place at Bellamonde, Chattapur and the theme was pastels and florals. It was simply a romantic and elegant affair with live shehnai and shankh.
Kanika wore a splendidly embellished rose gold Sabyasachi belted Anarkali with a net dupatta looking absolutely ravishing. She teamed her outfit with a small red bindi, huge gold Maang-tikka, and earrings with lightweight Kaleeras.
While Simran wore a cream Sabyasachi achkan with a light pink shawl and matching Safa.
Doing away with a traditional Vidaai, the couple took off in a florally decked up Royal Enfield with a sidecar.
