We all know that couples are made in heaven and everyone has somebody eagerly waiting.

This is exactly what happened with Ishleen and Ankit. They didn’t know anything about the existence of each other. But as destined they met, and they met to be with each other forever. Ishleen stayed in Delhi while the groom Ankit stayed in Melbourne, they had some mutual family friends. So, as happens in Indian families they were shown each other’s pictures online and were even made to talk on the phone to understand each other. They never met or saw each other before the engagement. She agreed to get engaged to a man before meeting him or seeing, isn’t that the traditional way of marriage?
Since her adolescent days, she pictured herself as a traditional red outfit bride. But as she began shopping, she knew that she wanted to wear something which will entice the wedding guests and make them look at her in awe, as the curvy princess is a little bit of an attention seeker. She went to Chetan Sarees in Chandni Chowk and was flattened by a navy blue lehenga with intricate gold embroidery and pink flowers on the pleated bottom. But she wanted a customized lehenga for her special day, she picked up that silhouette, converted it into an Anarkali as theirs was a morning gurudwara wedding and suits are an ideal outfit for that. She also changed the color to a terrific bold but not bright bottle green and added some gold embroidery on it with a pink dupatta. She got her dream outfit.

The groom Ankit was accepting of whatever she chose for him! Although initially, he was a bit skeptical about her decision of going green for the big day, when she chose a beige and gold sherwani for him and added just hints of green to his outfit, he was a happy kid. She asked for a green border on his sherwanis stole, some green detailing on the sherwani buttons, collar , and jutti along with a matching green turban. And the guys at Suitify did a great job with it.

The Mehendi designs by Arpit and Makeupnd hair by Leena Bhushan added an extra spark to her beauty. The Venue for the marriage was Tivoli Gardens GT Karnal Road, Delhi. Photography & Videography was done by Rajesh Digital.

Ishleen had always believed that getting married in your natural shape isn’t a crime and that you should be happy and proud of yourself. We could’t agree more.
