Groom Udit and Bride Henna met while pursuing their undergraduate degree in the UK in 2006. They used to have some classes together, and it was a classic case of geek meeting chic. Henna got Udit to help her with all her really technical assignments, and that’s how it all began.

Henna always wanted an opulent and picturesque wedding. She wanted a wedding theme that reflects them as a couple, modern yet rooted, hence they chose a palace wedding. They looked at locations in Udaipur, Jaipur, and Jodhpur. A lot of guests were traveling from abroad, so the hotel had to be fully facilitated and needed large rooms. Henna loved the structure of Fairmont Jaipur and the availability, they had to manage with venues within the hotel. Her make up artist and hairstylist was Ojas Rajani. Ojas is known for providing a very glamorous look, and that’s exactly what she got.

Henna searched very hard for a photographer with whom she could connect. Hitched and Clicked are masters of the art and are warm and friendly at the same time.

According to Henna, it was stressful planning it from London, but she had a vast family network who was helping with all the chasing. Her wedding planners, wedding across from Jaipur were also tremendous and sourced everything she needed.

Henna further said, ‘Be decisive. You will have lots of options and pros/cons of every decision during wedding planning, so go with your gut. Don’t get influenced by everyone else because everyone has an opinion during wedding planning.’

For Mehendi Henna wore – Anushree Reddy pink lehenga. She wanted something flowy, bright and pink and ordered this remotely with Anushree and it turned out perfect.

For Sangeet Shyamal and Bhumika. As the banquet hall at Fairmont was blue, she chose something bright, hence picked the ivory lehenga from Shyamal and Bhumika .

For Pheras she wore Sabyasachi with a beige dupatta. Henna wanted to go for a traditional look during the wedding but something a bit different. Sabyasachi is such a classic and one for generations.

For the reception, the theme was a black-tie for this event and Henna went for a Hollywood glam gold Monisha Jaisingh gown with a high slit.

And that is how an Indian dulhan from London got hitched.
