Amit and Aditya met each other at a friend’s birthday in New York and dated for 3 years. Rare did they know that this meeting is going to transform in a relationship which will be forever. Breaking the boundaries and myths of crores of people and educating them about LGBT rights, this couple has undoubtedly set a benchmark for many more couples and made us feel proud.
Aditya works in the field of Risk Management for a Bank in New York City, and Amit owns multiple business ventures in New York.
The wedding took place in Hindu Temple. What a beautiful wedding it was! Happy faces and proud eyes, Blessings was what couple collected from many. Blessings of love and eternity.
Gujarati and Telugu style of the wedding brought both families together and celebrated each other’s ritual with equal honor and respect.
The first thing the couple planned was outfits for the wedding and decided where they would want to celebrate post the wedding. They finally zeroed on Pondicheri, a restaurant in Manhattan.
The elegant yet traditional wedding outfit was designed from Anita Dongre, the cocktail outfit from Amanda’s Designs and Mehendi outfit from Live Bohame.
Amit and Aditya quoted that it filled their hearts with enormous pleasure to watch their families come together and celebrate their love.
They had an intimate wedding and really not a lot of planning was required. Their main aim was to celebrate with their family and really close friends. The experience was very unique as they had to pick everything for two grooms. They both are very much into design and fashion, it was fun overall. They decided the best for themselves, and the celebration gives us some serious wedding goals.
On asking if something went wrong, Aditya says “When you are happy, and at the moment even if something goes wrong it doesn’t matter. We decided we won’t stress about the small stuff and we stuck with that”.
“Each wedding is different and unique. Make your own and don’t feel pressurized to do something because someone on social media did it. Just be yourself.” This is advice to all future couple by the two.
The couple didn’t plan on coordinating, but they fell in love with Anita Dongre’s collection. Who wouldn’t, right? Anita Dongre’s collection is loved by all, it is everyone’s favorite. They both tried on each outfit and just decided on a color depending on what cuts and styles they both individually liked. The couple wore floral prints with pride breaking all stereotypes related to floral pattern/design on men’s outfit.
Live Bohame (Mehendi outfit) was a last-minute impromptu online order because Aditya came across it while scrolling through Instagram. They loved their stuff.
For cocktails, they stuck with Andaz design and got custom made indo-western sherwani, which looks so perfect on them.
