Textured Cake:

Ruling the hearts of Instagramers is the Geode cake which takes you back to your Geology class – remember the hollow rocks filled with sparkling crystals and minerals, the agate and more.. Couples are looking for alternatives with a surprise element, not the traditional cakes adorned with delicate flowers will marvel at cake tiers literally slashed open revealing a rock candy core designed to look like one of nature’s most beautiful rock formations.

The Alternative Wedding Cake:

More and more, couples are ditching the usual sponge and icing in favour for a sweet getaway that is more intimate to their inclinations and style. From donut walls, to tiers of cheese or sweet, warm and delicious pies – whatever dessert is your guilty pleasure, why not have it on your wedding day? Our personal favourite is the macaroon tower. So elegant, so luxurious, add a Parisian touch to your wedding day.

Edible Florals

Edible florals are obviously the most significant trend of 2019. The glossy finish of icing with beautiful edible floral wafer arrangements is a cake you must-have for your wedding. Some thoughts that some flowers, like some herbs and teas, aren’t recommended for people with certain health conditions.

My favorites for decorating cakes are:
Pansies have a mild taste that works wonders with any cake.
Roses have unyielding petals that candy suitablly and a smell of floral scent.
Dahlias come in different colors, flavors, and sizes, and last hours.
Mums have a nice green flavor compared to other flowers.
Lilacs are tiny, delicate flowers that are great plain or candied.
Bachelor buttons look like mini pom-poms and have a very subtle sweet flavor.
Hibiscus has beautiful petals and a very berry flavor.
Orchids can be sweet and come in tiny and large sizes.
Impatiens have a very mild flavor.
Begonias have gorgeous pink petals and stems, and a citrusy flavor.

Edible florals are obviously biggest trend of 2019. The glossy finish of icing with beautiful edible floral wafer arrangements is a cake you must have for your wedding.
