When Sakshi told me her story I thought Karan Johar was the director for their lives. The number of times they met, had great times together but the conclusion was always the same, not dating.
Until one day Jay’s efforts did the magic. Only this time the disparity is it’s not an on-screen movie this happened actually. Let me take you through their journey.
Jay & Sakshi know each other for 8 years but they finally became close 2 years back through a common Best friend who got engaged but didn’t invite them. Both Sakshi & Jay together took a class with this friend & enjoyed the little moments together.
For Sakshi, it was the attraction at first for Jay where she felt Yes, I can count on him.
After that beautiful trip where Sakshi & Jay kinda hit it off. They met again after a few days to meet their friend’s fiance. They both were quite busy talking to others & later Jay took this step to talk to Sakshi & spend a little time with her he canceled going to his friend’s party so that he could spend more time with Sakshi. Isn’t that Jay being so cute?
There came a moment where Sakshi got to know about her Granddad’s health & she became emotional & started crying Jay being a sweetheart was wiping her tears & held her hand to stay strong. All the friends over there could see beautiful chemistry between Sakshi & Jay. After that party, Jay would every day make sure if Sakshi is fine & if she needs something Jay is always there for her but Sakshi after a point didn’t respond as she was busy with work & other chores. She made excuses to meet him because she was going through a rough time. She needed some time & space to feel okay but still, Jay did his bit how much ever he could by telling her every day, ‘You’re aware right that I like you’ & Sakshi’s reaction to it was ‘Ya okay’. They both still laugh about this moment. Time passed where Sakshi & Jay enjoyed chatting late nights instead of meeting & kind of comfort which Jay gave her she started liking him back.
Sakshi’s birthday was in January, Jay being away on a cruise sent cakes, vodka, and croquembouche tower that’s when things uphill and Jay & Sakshi started meeting often. Sakshi fell in love with Jay but the questions of being together & understanding each other being in different professions, lifestyle & culturally they were quite different but you know right opposite attracts?
Sakshi still not being sure she told her parents to look for a boy & Jay was Shattered he was unable to understand what was wrong as he used to keep coming to Sakshi’s place & things were pretty great instead he had created his charm. So, Jay, this time took a step by asking for permission to Sakshi if he could speak to her Mom.
Jay spoke to Sakshi’s mom & he was fond of Sakshi & he didn’t want Sakshi to see any other boys as he loved her so much & these words swayed her mom off that Yes, this is the right one.
Jay & Sakshi took some time to get to know each other more & to spend some time by meeting often. The more they spoke to each other Sakshi realized he is the one who will shower her with love & that’s what matters ahead in life. LOVE.
& finally, the decision to get married.
Sakshi & Jay planning things differently but set the theme together.
For Sakshi detailing & personalization matters the most. Hence, she made sure all the functions had what they both loved the most. Glitter Balloons, a popcorn cart, potato station, a split personality photo booth, decor having yellow theme along with pineapples since Jay loves pineapples and Sakshi loves potatoes, bubble machine for the Varmala, foot massage station for all the quest at the Reception, from sending the date video with all caricatures, having personalized pocket perfumes in each room hamper.
Sakshi’s Mehendi had elements of what they both loved, a fan of cricket so they had stumps bat & ball, coke & fries, the logo was incorporated in the Mehendi and Jay’s name was placed in such a way that when the ring ends his name is seen. They also made the boys write JAYHO near the palm so when everyone did Namaste to welcome the Bharati’s they would see JAYHO.
All the functions planned were so much loved filled with love and joy.
